How to know your dog thinks she's a person

Our dog never knew she was a canine. She thought she was just height challenged.
We got her when we lived in Quito, Ecuador. She came to the states with us and then went to Brussels, back to the states (while I was in Beirut) and then to Brasilia. She came back to the states and lived to the ripe old age of 17 or 18, I'm not sure.
I was holding her when she just ran out of breath. Really a sad day at our home.
Her name is/was Becky and she was about 99% Poodle. We couldn't even fool her by spelling words like "car, food, out, go" in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese. Her place in life was in my wife's lap in the right front seat of the car!!
Pets are so important to us, glad one has you under control.
