In an attempt to at least somewhat prepare ourselves for the big 10-mile run next week, K and I headed out on a 5-mile run tonight. I had low expectations ...
... and I shattered them.
The run was nice and easy, actually. When we realized we were at a 9-min-mile pace, so we dropped back to about 10, since I like to have plenty to burn off at the end. We picked up our pace when we hit 4.5 miles, and as we were about to finish, I started sprinting. And then somehow, I went even faster. I left K behind.
Our overall pace was 9:13. Not bad. I think we might be in good shape for next week after all!
